Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of ensuring the visibility of a website or web page in a search engine’s results pages (SERPs). These listings are called the organic or natural results because they are not “paid” listings. The more frequently a site appears in the search engine’s result pages, the more visitors it will receive. You can perform SEO to include image search, local search, video search, and more. MannClann Enterprises specializes in the local search market as the majority of our clients are small businesses looking to increase their reach within their own community.

SEO concentrates a lot on the pages of your website and ensuring they are set up correctly to be read and understood by the major search engines. SEM on the other hand also includes optimization through off-page elements such as paid advertising, content, and contextual inclusion. Think of SEM as the paid advertising portion of SEO.

Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is probably the most familiar marketing method to the average internet user. No matter what social site you use, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, or any one of the many others, you will see targeted advertising directed specifically at your interests.

These social media sites are all good ways to expand your brand and your product to more people. You can interact with people using many methods such as contests, giveaways, hashtag chats, etc. These are the free methods and should be coordinated with your SEO keywords to drive traffic to your website and increase your search engine rankings. Some social media sites also offer paid advertising which can be targeted to your perfect customer and provide you with traffic and sales.

If you don’t know how your SEO, SEM, Social Media, and paid advertising are actually performing you are wasting your money. Internet Marketing is all about results and without analyzing your results you won’t be successful in your efforts.

One area you need to understand is your website usage. We use Google Analytics to understand how people are using your website. Google Analytics tells us how people arrive at your site. Do they come from search engine listings, social media, paid advertising or somewhere else? Google Analytics also shows us the pages that are visited, how long they are there, what page they leave from, and even sales metrics. MannClann Enterprises installs Google Analytics as a standard practice with every web design project we do.
